Hight-gloss chairs
This pair of stained chairs were sturdy but the seats were worn and the timber had superficial scratches and dents. The chairs were sanded and painted then the seats reupholstered. Ensure you remove the seat base before painting, placing it back on the chair after reupholstering.
Remove the old fabric cover and foam, using the seat base as a template to cut a new 17mm thick plywood base plus foam and backing fabric, securing with spray adhesive. Cut the new fabric cover with an extra 100mm all around, pull it taut over the seat and fold in the corners, securing it with staples.
