In this DIY video, we show you how to identify and protect seedlings in your garden.

Have you ever planted seeds or seedlings in your garden, only to find that they’re hidden by a mass of weeds only a few weeks later?

It can often be difficult to determine which plants are weeds and which ones are seedlings, so try this simple trick to avoid pulling out the wrong plants.

Simply cut a toilet paper roll in half and place it over the top of the seedlings. Alternatively, if you’re sowing seeds, plant them inside a halved toilet paper roll.

When it comes time to pull out the weeds, you’ll instantly know which plants you need to keep and which ones need to come out.

The toilet paper also provides protection to the young seedlings as they grow.
