splice joint

In this how-to video form Porta, Ed explains how to join two piece of moulding together with a splice joint.
If you’re faced with a situation where your room is longer than a standard piece of timber, then you’ll need to join two pieces together.
You can take the easy way and butt two pieces together, or you could make a splice joint.
To make a splice joint, cut a 45 degree angle at the end of each piece.
Simply slide them together and drive one fixing through the face to secure the pieces together to create a nice, flush joint.
